How to Remove Oil Stains from Your Garage Floor?

Ah, driveways and garage floors, the stalwarts of your home. These slabs of concrete are likely to last you into the distant future, but if unsightly stains are becoming an eyesore or have your HOA down your back, Castle 1 Day Coatings can help you out.

Whether your car is leaking fluid, or you made a mess topping off the fluids in your car, here is how to get oil stains out of your concrete.

First thing’s first. You will want to sop up any lingering oil. Strangely enough, cheap kitty litter does a great job. Other absorbent materials like, cornstarch or baking soda also work well. Depending on how much oil there is, you can leave it for 20 minutes, a few hours, or even over night before sweeping it up.

If the stain you are working on is already dry, there are a few things you can do. No doubt you have handy laundry detergent, Dawn dish soap, or WD-40. All of these work well to defeat grease. Whichever you are working with, deposit the substance over the stain. Then taking a wire bristle brush, scrub the spot. Rinse with water and let dry. It is also worth noting that an engine degreaser, unsurprisingly, is very effect too.

And there you have it! Be plagued no more by the ghosts of oil spills of the past. Of course, if you are looking for a more permanent solution, Castle 1 Day Coatings has it.
